Show me how to create drop down menus in Microsoft Excel 2007
Excel -> Microsoft Excel 2007Problem: I need to add drop-down menus to my spreadsheet so the user can only select values from within a predefined list.
- Open Microsoft Excel 2007
- Click the "Data" tab
- On the "Data Tools" section, click the "Data Validation" button
- On the "Data Validation" window on the "Settings" tab, choose "List" from the "Allow:" drop-down menu
- In the "Source" field, type a list of values separated by commas
- Click the "OK" button
Alternate method:
- Open Microsoft Excel 2007
- Click the "Data" tab
- On the "Data Tools" section, click the "Data Validation" button
- On the "Data Validation" window on the "Settings" tab, choose "List" from the "Allow:" drop-down menu
- To the immediate right of the "Source" field, click the cell selection button (it looks like a miniature spreadsheet with a red arrow pointing to the top-left corner)
- Select the cells to be used as values for the drop-down menu
- Click the red X in the upper-right corner of the "Data Validation" window
- Click "OK"
