Show me how to format cell data in Microsoft Excel 2007

Excel -> Microsoft Excel 2007

Problem: The decimal places don't line up in my columns and dates are not displayed consistently.

  1. Open Microsoft Excel 2007
  2. Right-click in any cell, or group of cells, containing data
  3. Select the "Format Cells..." item
  4. On the "Format Cells" windows on the "Number" tab, select the appropriate formatting from the "Category:" menu
  5. Click the "OK" button
  6. On the "Home" tab in the "Number" section, click the drop-down menu and select an appropriate format
  7. Click the drop-down next to the "Accounting Menu Format" button (it looks like a dollar sign) and choose the appropriate accounting format
  8. Click the "Percent Style" button (it looks like the percent sign)
  9. Click the "Increase Decimal" button (it has ".0" on it with an arrow pointing to the left)
  10. Click the "Decrease Decimal" button (it has ".00" on it with an arrow pointing to the right)
